Article 1 THE SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM
1213 Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit (vitae spiritualis ianua), 4 and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: "Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word." 5

Baptismal Registration Requirements
Parents must provide the following:
The original birth certificate of the child.
Telephone number of the parents of the child.
Photocopy of godparents’ identification and their telephone numbers.
An offering to the parish $80 per child .
Please bring exact change, check, or money order.
COVID-19 Restrictions: Only the parents, godparents and the baptised can be present for the baptism. (Total of five individuals.)
You will receive the date and time of your pre-baptism class on the day that you register.
If the parents or godparents have already taken Baptismal classes, bring Proof at time of registration.
IMPORTANT! You must bring ALL necessary documents at time of registration, otherwise you will NOT be able to register!
Note: Only children who are 6 years of age and under may be baptized as infants.
Baptismal Ceremony and Classes
Baptisms are Saturday mornings @ 9:00AM.
Parents and Godparents must attend three baptismal classes offered by Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Classes are $80.00 and certification for course completion will be given at the parish office.
Register in the Parish Office during regular office hours - Mon – Fri 9AM to 1PM and 2PM to 5PM. Once you have registered you will receive the dates for each class.
IMPORTANT! You must bring ALL necessary documents at time of registration, otherwise you will NOT be able to register!
Baptismal Classes Only
If you plan to baptize your infant at another parish and only wish to take classes at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Parents and/or Godparents must provide the following:
Register in the Parish Office during regular office hours, Mon - Fri 9AM to 1PM and 2PM to 5PM.
Bring Identification Card or Drivers License.
Certification for course completion will be given at the last class.
Classes are held on Monday evenings from 6:45PM - 9:00PM.
Classes are $30.00 per person
Godparents Role
The godparents represent both the expanded spiritual amily of the one to be baptized and the role of the Church as a mother. As occasion offers, godparents help the parents so that children will come to profess the faith and live up to it.
The godparents must have received the Sacraments of Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation.
The godparents should live a life consistent with the Catholic faith.
Potential godparents should attend Mass regularly and participate in holy communion during Mass
If the potential godparents is/are married, they should be married by the Catholic Church.
If the potential godparents is/are single, they must have all three sacraments and should not be living in a civil union.
Single godparents must be of the Catholic faith.
If the potential godparents are a couple (and are living together as common law spouses or were married civilly) they will not be allowed to baptize in our church.
